Our Recommendations

The most proven pieces from our range - for women and men. Not a random selection: these are the styles that are ordered most frequently and returned least often.

If you are visiting virblatt for the first time, this is the easiest place to start.

What virblatt does

We design alternative clothing ourselves and have been producing it for over ten years together with family-run businesses we know and trust in northern Thailand and Nepal. Harem pants, tops, ponchos, shoes and bags - mostly made from cotton, hemp and linen, and mostly designed as unisex styles.

What you will not find here: polyester, disposable quality or collections that change completely every season. Many of our styles have been available for years because they work.

What you should start with

1. A pair of pants. The most defining piece. A plain pair of harem pants in black or earth tones goes with everything.
2. A layerable top. A hooded shirt, a kimono or a poncho.
3. Shoes. Flat and simple - our hemp shoes do not add bulk.
4. A bag. A belt bag or shoulder bag with a zipper.

The basic rule when combining outfits: one statement piece, and keep the rest understated. Wide on the bottom means slim on top.

How we work

Everyone involved in production is paid fairly. We show what this looks like on the page Who makes your clothes? and on the hemp field. We disclose our emissions in the Emissions Barometer.

Orders are shipped carbon-neutrally, free of charge from 80 euros. At the end of every order, you can have trees planted in our reforestation project in northern Thailand - so far, more than 30,000 have been planted there.
