What you should start with
A complete outfit for us consists of three to four pieces. If you're just starting out, it's best to shop in this order:
- A pair of trousers. The most distinctive piece and the reason most people come to us. A plain pair of harem trousers in black or olive goes with everything and works well for everyday wear.
- A layer to wear over your top. A hooded shirt or a kimono turns a T-shirt and trousers into an outfit.
- Shoes. Flat and simple - our hemp shoes don't add bulk and last for years.
- A bag. A belt bag or shoulder bag with a zip, especially for festivals and travel.
Only once you have the basics in place are the more eye-catching pieces worthwhile - patterned Aladdin trousers, Psy prints, ethnic coats.
Why we chose these pieces
We don't carry a range that changes completely every season. Many styles have been available for years because they work. The pieces on this page have proven themselves in three ways: They fit a wide range of sizes, the colours hold fast, and the seams withstand more than one season.
All pieces are made from natural fibres - cotton from Thailand, hemp for shoes and bags, linen blends for summer, and wool for winter ponchos.
Who makes them
We design every piece ourselves and have been producing them for more than ten years with trusted family-run businesses in northern Thailand and Nepal. Everyone involved is paid fairly. We show what this looks like on the Who makes your clothes? page.
Shipping is carbon-neutral and free for orders over 80 euros. At the end of every order, you can have trees planted in our reforestation project in northern Thailand.
